Balance of freight to be paid after “settlement” of demurrage - Date of accrual of cause of action

The main issue in this case was whether the shipowners’ claim for the balance of freight was time-barred on the ground that it was not brought within the six year period provided by the Limitation Act 1939. The relevant charterparty clauses provided as follows:
