Collision off port of Bombay

A collision occurred between the vessels Capulonix and State of Himachal Pradesh off the port of Bombay shortly after midnight on 13 February 1975. Capulonix was a single screw tanker of 28,435 g.r.t. She was inward bound to Bombay laden with 48,000 long tonnes of crude oil. Her draught was 40 ft. 6 ins. and she was exhibiting three vertical red lights indicating that she was a deep draughted vessel. Pradesh was a single screw vessel of 5,670 tons net register. She was outward bound from Bombay for Cochin laden with 6,476 tons of dry cargo.
