Maritime Overseas Corporation v. SPC Shipping Inc - Before Lloyd C. Nelson, A. Joseph Slattery & Frank L. Crocker, Chairman - 19 April 1984

Oil tankers allegedly short-loaded during course of time charter - Whether charterers entitled to damages

SPC time-chartered numerous vessels from MOC to transport Alaska North Slope oil to various continental U.S. ports. The charters were on the Texacotime 2 form. SPC claimed $3,066,309 “deadfreight” for alleged shortloading of cargo on 416 voyages carried out by 12 of the chartered vessels between 1977 and 1982.
