Brovigtank v. Transcredit and Oil Tradeanstalt (The Gunda Brovig) - Q.B.D. (Com.Ct.) (Robert Goff J.) - 12 October 1981

Charterers to reimburse owners for Iraqi freight tax

Brovigtank chartered their vessel Gunda Brovig to Transcredit on an Exxonvoy form dated 16 December 1976 for a voyage with a clean petroleum product from the Arabian Gulf to a European port. The ship proceeded to Basrah and loaded a cargo there in late December 1976. The freight payable by the charterers to the owners under the charterparty amounted to 83,595.40 Iraqui Dinars.
