Full security to be ordered only exceptionally when stating a special case

The Court of Appeal has declared that, although an arbitrator has power to impose conditions for the granting of a special case, where there is a clear-cut and fully arguable point of law on which a great deal of money depends it is only in a very exceptional case that a condition for security of the whole sum should be ordered. The Court dismissed Pinios’ appeal against Parker J.’s order striking out such a condition imposed by the arbitrator in the present case.
