Demurrage - Exxonvoy 1969

Owners claimed demurrage under an Exxonvoy 1969 charter. Charterers conceded that demurrage was due but disputed the amount. The vessel loaded in Nigeria where she used 50 hours and 30 minutes. Part of the cargo was discharged at South Riding Point where she used 39 hours and 12 minutes. She then proceeded to the Southwest Pass of the Mississippi where she dropped anchor. While at anchor the Pass was closed due to the grounding of another vessel. The vessel finally sailed for Houston where the balance of the cargo was discharged. The waiting time was calculated to be 89 hours and 38 minutes.
