Grab discharge - 13/80

Under a Gencon charter for a voyage with bulk products, the owners were responsible for stowage, an additional clause described the ship and gave her year of build (1956), deadweight and draught, the number of holds/hatches (five), mentioned that there were three decks in hatches 1 and 3 and two in hatches 2, 4 and 5, and gave the cubic capacity of each space. The next clause provided “Vessel to be suitable for grab discharge.” The charterers alleged that she was not so suitable and claimed damages.
