Denmark’s premium rates are inadequate, warns Swiss Re

PREMIUM rates in the Danish property catastrophe market are inadequate, according to reinsurance giant Swiss Re. The firm said it does not believe winter storm Erwin, which hit Denmark, leaving 400,000 people homeless and causing E900m ($1,096m) in insured losses, and the wider Scandinavian region at the start of this year was an exception.
