More needs to be done to curb the rise in EL prices

FOR some time UK business groups such as the Confederation of British Industry (CBI) have complained of the high cost of employers’ liability (EL) insurance cover. Pressure has mounted on the government to take action as the CBI has cited soaring premiums as a threat to business in the UK, while the insurance industry has been keen to point out the EL market remains unattractive for insurers due to the high tendency to lose money.
