Groupama’s new chairman is Baucherel

THE board of French insurer Groupama has elected Jean-Luc Baucherel as the mutual’s new chairman. He succeeds Jean Baligand, who resigned his position on August 19, officially for "personal and family reasons". But according to press reports, the board’s committee of chairmen (who head up the regional units that make up Groupama) unanimously asked Mr Baligand to leave.
