Appointments

The following senior judicial appointments have been announced. Lord Bingham of Cornhill will succeed Lord Browne-Wilkinson as Senior Law Lord. Lord Woolf will succeed Lord Bingham as Lord Chief Justice of England. Lord Phillips of Worth Matravers will succeed Lord Woolf as Master of the Rolls. Sir Richard Scott, the Vice-Chancellor, has been appointed a Law Lord. Lord Justice Morritt will succeed Sir Richard Scott as Vice-Chancellor.
