Russian potential grows but insurer risks remain

THE vast potential offered by the Russian insurance market to foreign insurers and reinsurers is accelerating towards realisation on the back of strong recent economic growth and legal and regulatory reforms. But Russia will remain a risky bet for foreign companies considering investing in the market until more solid proof that economic progress is sustainable and greater legal certainty prevails.
