Notice of readiness received by shippers and local agents - Whether notice given to ‘charterer’ as required by charterparty

The vessel was chartered on the Asbatankvoy form. Clause 6 provided that ‘[U]pon arrival at customary anchorage … the Master … shall give the charterer … notice … that the vessel is ready to load or discharge cargo, berth or no berth, and laytime ... shall ... commence upon the expiration of six hours after receipt of such notice, or upon the vessel’s arrival in berth ... whichever first occurs.’
