Indian private sector urged to pull weight on motor

THE four former subsidiaries of the General Insurance Corporation (GIC) of India have sought the intervention of the Indian
government and the country’s Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority (IRDA) to ensure the participation of the private
sector in statutory covers like motor insurance.
