Practice - Costs - Whether Court should depart from rule that costs should follow event

On the trial of preliminary issues the Court held (on 30 April 1997) that the plaintiffs’ claims against the defendants in relation to the acquisition of the vessel Ardent failed, and that the claims brought by two of the defendants also failed. The defendants now sought orders for costs in their favour against the plaintiffs.
