Egon Oldendorff v Liberia Corporation - QBD (Com Ct)(Clarke J) - 16 November 1995

Conflict of laws - Rome Convention 1980 - Proper law of contract

The plaintiffs were a German commercial partnership and the defendants were a Japanese corporation. The plaintiffs claimed damages for breach of a contract said to have been made for the 10 year charter by them of two Panamax bulk carriers, which were to be built in Japan for the defendants.
