Abbey closes two Dublin life offices

ABBEY National has announced the closure to new business with immediate effect of its two Dublin-based life operations, Scottish Mutual International (SMI) and Scottish Provident Ireland (SPIreland). SMI focused on the offshore with-profits market, targeting customers in Europe, the Far East and Middle East, while SPIreland offered a range of life and pension products to the domestic market.
