Adding new entries to the catastrophe index

AS the post-flood reinsurance renewals begin to gather pace in central Europe, more than 50 delegates, including representatives from all but one of Slovakia’s 12 largest non-life insurers, attended "BG Day" in Bratislava on 24 September. The event was the first to be held by reinsurance broker Benfield Group in central Europe, and follows its employment of the Czech and Slovak broking teams of rival BMS Harris & Dixon in January this year.
