Losses less
LOSSES for Italian motor liability insurance narrowed to Euro246m ($220m) in the first six months of 2001 from Euro629m in
2000, according to figures from insurance regulator ISVAP. Motor liability premiums in the six-month period rose 5.9% to Euro7.8bn.
Among other statistics, ISVAP also said that while the number of claims paid in the period had fallen 17.1% the average claim
payment had risen 13.1%.
