Irish Reinsurance Partners holds first board meeting

DUBLIN - SCOR�s Dublin unit Irish Reinsurance Partners (IRP) is open for business, following the inaugural meeting of the board of directors this week. The company will begin underwriting in January 2002, concentrating on sharing new or renewed business with SCOR. The French parent sees this as an opportunity to expand its non-life underwriting and the treaty and facultative arenas by more than 25%. Serge Osouf, chief operating officer of SCOR, will be named chairman of the board of IRP. The other board members will be Brian Wilson, former vice-president of the World Bank, and Gus Hatch, former member of the management board of UAP International and currently chairman of Jubilee Insurance Companies in Africa. Christian Delannes, vice-president of SCOR�s Development Division, will be the chief executive officer.
