Pakistan angry at war risk premium imposition

KARACHI - The All Pakistan Shipping Association has opposed a proposal to impose war risk premiums on ships operating out of Karachi. The Association said the move would not be justified given there was no war in the country. But some shipments have been delayed amid fears of an imminent attack on neighbouring Afghanistan after the World Trade Centre (WTC) atrocity in the US. Mohammad Farrukh Qaiser commented: "We don't understand why Pakistan is being punished when the country has not triggered any war. India is also in the region but it will be excluded from the proposed war risk premium."
