Insurance Day
UK's FSA joins Internet scam search
LONDON - In a move designed to monitor and eradicate illegal internet activity, the Financial Services Association (FSA),
participated in the second international Internet 'surf day', yesterday. During the course of the exercise, 28 UK sites and
35 sites based overseas were identified as meriting further investigation. Those sites flagged up during the search were mainly
suspected of offering unauthorised investment advice and opportunities, in breach of UK law. The FSA has since carried out
further investigations, as well as handing its findings on to the relevant authorities.
