Insurer implications of Trump’s AI moratorium remain unclear As the US Congress considers imposing a 10-year moratorium on state artificial intelligence (AI) regulations, lawyers and state officials are unsure whether and how broadly the measure would apply to the insurance sector. Regulators worry a moratorium could challenge how they enforce AI-related guidance and governance frameworks or affect efforts to require the sharing of data related to underwriting models.
