Contractual considerations relating to marine green fuels (Part I)
Substantial efforts are being made in relation to the technical, regulatory and policy aspects of the adoption of green fuels in the maritime industry. Despite the progress in those areas, this article (which is presented in two parts) will show that a gap is increasingly evident in relation to the legal issues arising out of the production, sale, distribution and use of marine green fuels (MGFs), in an effort to explain that contractual considerations are just as important as technology, regulation and policy in relation to the commercial deployment of MGFs.
