It is quite apt that a chapter of this publication be dedicated to the rapidly evolving areas of the aviation industry, and of aviation law, that will be instrumental in attempting to achieve the internationally agreed Net Zero Emission target by 2050. Political agreement on targeting net zero for aviation has been complemented by fiscal and regulatory policies throughout the world to promote a variety of initiatives to meet these targets and to provide for a more sustainable aviation sector. Most relevantly, these targets have been agreed to and supported by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and the International Air Transport Association (IATA).
