GIO climbs 22% at interim

AUSTRALIA‘S most profitable listed general insurer GIO Australia capped off a week of improved profit results for the industry
by posting a 22.3% rise in net profit after tax to A$102.5m (US$79m) for the half-year to December 31, 1996.
