Money Laundering Bulletin
New beginnings – Montenegro
Like other countries in the Balkans, Montenegro is anxious to shake off a reputation for financial corruption and political instability and, says
 Alan Osborn,
appears to be doing so with rather more success than some of its neighbours.

                                                        Recent history
As always in this part of the world, reliable official statistics are not always easy to come by, nor are they always accurate
or up-to-date. But a survey of opinion by
   MLB
among those involved in the fight against money laundering leaves one with a clear impression of a country newly born from
the chaos of recent years and gearing up to take its place among the major organisations of Europe, and eventually perhaps
the European Union (EU). Certainly, where anti-money laundering legislation is concerned, Montenegro appears to be ahead of
   the game.
