11 September has certainly not been all bad for launderers. The tragic events in New York may have focused unwelcome public and official attention on concealing and moving illicit money but it has concentrated largely on specific issues. Anything outside the immediate war-scenario has been pushed down the news agenda and one must ask whether similar reordering of priorities has occurred among the authorities.
