Best Execution – what’s the big deal?

Best execution seems to be the theme of the year for financial services firms across the pond in Europe and US. While best execution has been advocated in these markets for a long time now, regulations like the Markets in Financial Instruments Directive (MiFID) in Europe and Regulation National Market System (RegNMS) in the US are pulling all stops in ensuring that investors in those parts of the globe are getting their orders executed on best terms.
