Healthcare deficit shrinks by €2.2bn in 2006

Expenditure on health services amounted to E166.0bn last year, while income for the schemes stood at E160.1bn • SCOR completes deregistration of its securities in the US

French healthcare services operated by the various obligatory social security schemes in the country produced a cumulative deficit of €5.9bn ($8.3bn) last year, according to figures from the state auditor, Cour des Comptes. This was an improvement from the deficit of €8.1bn seen in 2005. Expenditure on health services amounted to €166.0bn ($233.6bn) last year, while income for the schemes stood at €160.1bn.
