Colombia: at least 15 people were injured when their plane made an emergency landing at an airport in southwestern Colombia.
The accident occurred at the Antonio Narino airport in Chachaqui, a town in the southwestern province of Narino. The plane’s
pilot, co-pilot and their assistant, who were in very serious conditions, were rushed to a hospital in Pasto, capital of Narino.
The Russian made AN-26 plane, with 53 people on board, including the three crew members, experienced a failure in one of its
engines when it requested an emergency landing. The plane landed on the airport’s No. 2 runway, but lost control and smashed
into a sports centre. The aircraft is reported to have left the runway and broke in two. There were 53 persons on board. There
were no fatalities.
