Turkey: a security guard died and four people were injured as passenger ro/ro Ankara , arriving at Istanbul from Bodrum, moved unexpectedly while being secured at the dock. The guard died at the scene when the ropes securing the ferry were thrown into the air by a sudden movement and struck his head. The boat allegedly moved as about 10 passengers were on the steps. The captain and his aide were taken into police custody. Lines from the ferry were secured to the dock by employees and passengers had begun to exit the vessel on the stairs when the accident occurred. Following the accident the ferry was moved away from the dock until safety precautions could be taken and was then evacuated.
