The coming of age of the US-EU dialogue

With the recent news that US insurance regulators are to develop alternatives to the current reinsurance collateral rules imposed on foreign reinsurers by the end of this year, the outlook for the success of the US-EU regulatory dialogue looks promising. Speaking shortly after the announcement, Mark Sobel , deputy assistant secretary for International Monetary and Financial Policy of the US Treasury Department, explains how the process between the world’s strongest trading blocks works and what it means from a US perspective.
