£6.5mn in damages for hit and run

A woman has won £6.5mn in damages after she was left paralysed when she was hit by a drink-driver’s car which mounted the pavement. The driver was imprisoned for two years and banned from driving for four years. As a result of the accident, which caused fractures to her spine and left her with minimal use of her arms, she needs 24-hour care and specially adapted accommodation.
