New EU choice of law rules for tort and product liability claims finalised

Five years after the European Commission first proposed to establish a single set of rules, embodied in an EC regulation, to determine the law applicable to non-contractual obligations, the European Parliament and Council have finally agreed a common text for the regulation (Rome II).1
