Teacher was unfairly dismissed

A teacher has been awarded over £20,000 in compensation following a successful claim of unfair dismissal. Her employer had alleged that her activities in the union undermined the school and caused fellow staff members to feel intimidated. At an employment tribunal hearing, however, it was decided that she had been unfairly dismissed and she was awarded £27,883 in compensation, of which she received £22,307 after deductions for contributory factors.
