Hospital negligence compensation

The family of a man who died as a result of hospital negligence has won £225,000 in compensation. He died after suffering a heart attack when a duodenal ulcer ruptured at the hospital. According to the woman, medics had left him for hours to lie in agony prior to his death, which, she believes, could have been prevented if the hospital had performed surgery instead of treating him with drugs. The woman received £200,000 and her son received £25,000. The case was settled out of court by the trust without accepting liability.
