Brain injury after being hit by car
A man who suffered a serious brain injury as a result of being knocked down by a car when he was a child has been awarded
compensation. The man was just eight years old at the time, was hit by a car on a bypass, after he tried to cross the road
along with some friends. He sustained a fractured skull and was left in a coma for 10 days. He subsequently had to have approximately
a quarter of his brain removed and has remained affected by cognitive and behavioural problems since. The compensation amount
was not revealed but it is believed to exceed £1mn.
