£700,000 payout for lung disease
A man left virtually wheelchair-bound after catching a disease from a parrot at work has won a £700,000 payout. The man caught
psittacosis, a lung disease similar to pneumonia, from an infected parrot in the pet department at the store where he worked.
He was diagnosed with post-viral chronic fatigue syndrome. The condition has left him largely wheelchair-bound, unable to
work and in great muscular pain.
