£700,000 payout for lung disease

A man left virtually wheelchair-bound after catching a disease from a parrot at work has won a £700,000 payout. The man caught psittacosis, a lung disease similar to pneumonia, from an infected parrot in the pet department at the store where he worked. He was diagnosed with post-viral chronic fatigue syndrome. The condition has left him largely wheelchair-bound, unable to work and in great muscular pain.
