£7,500 for pleural thickening

A man has been awarded £7,500 in compensation for the asbestos-related condition pleural thickening. He was exposed to asbestos fibres as an instrument mechanic. He left in 1988 following an early retirement due to ill health. He discovered he had pleural thickening in January 2005.
