Merck successfully defend second Vioxx case

Merck successfully defend second Vioxx case

In the second action brought in the US against Merck, the company responsible for the manufacture and distribution of Vioxx, the court has thrown out the case. The man was taking Vioxx for just 2 months before he became ill, and had a heart attack. The first action resulted in a Texas jury awarding $253.4mn.
