Trust pays out £500,000 for botched operation

An NHS Trust has been forced to pay in excess of £500,000 in compensation to a woman who almost died from complications after an operation went wrong. The case was settled out of court. The woman, a nurse, went into hospital for minor surgery but suffered a perforated bowel and ultimately multiple organ failure. She had to undergo further operations and suffers from epileptic symptoms.
