£2mn in damages for brain damaged baby

The mother of a brain damaged baby has received £2mn in damages. The payment was made in an out-of-court settlement shortly before the case was due to be heard. She claimed that her baby was starved of oxygen at birth due to the negligence of midwives and doctors. The hospital denied negligence.
