MoD pays out £5mn for crash

The Ministry of Defence has paid out £5mn to the family of a man who died in a plane crash. The man was piloting a Cessna plane when it crashed into the runway as it was landing. His family blamed an RAF Sea King helicopter which had taken off shortly before, and allegedly crossed the path of the Cessna, causing the man to take evasive action. The MoD denied liability, but settled out of court.
