Employment tribunals should reach unanimous decisions

The Court of Appeal said that it was desirable for an employment tribunal to reach its decision unanimously, especially in cases alleging unfair dismissal. The Court of Appeal allowed an appeal from the Employment Appeal Tribunal which had dismissed the decision of an employment tribunal. That tribunal ruled that the employee had been unfairly dismissed by a majority of the lay members, with the qualified chairman as the dissenting minority.
