HRT comments condemned

A German professor of pharmacology, who is also head of the German Commission on the Safety Medicines, was reported to have told a conference in the UK that HRT is comparable to thalidomide. He was reported to have said, “More women have probably died from the consequences of hormone therapy than damaged children were born in the wake of the thalidomide scandal.” The comments were condemned by the chairman of the conference.
