CHAPTER 12

Drydock and repairs

According to SOLAS regulations, the vessel must undergo drydocking at least twice within a five-year interval. The time between consecutive drydocking should not exceed three years, with a minimum interval of two years. In all cases, the interval between any two such inspections shall not exceed 36 months. While the vessel is in drydock, it will not be possible to provide charterers’ service. Drydocking is often included in the general off-hire clause as an off-hire event.1
