CHAPTER 8
Deficiency of men or stores
There are numerous various time charter forms, but to give a taste of dry cargo and general time charters, two types that are commonly used, NYPE and Baltime, differ substantially in their wording. According to BIMCO, the NYPE form is the most widely used standard time charterparty in the dry cargo sector. The NYPE 1946 was the first successful time charterparty since its inception in 1913, and was amended in 1946. Although the following NYPE forms, 1993 and 2015, have supposedly improved it, it is still the most widely used in the dry and general cargo sector. Numerous disputes arose from it, allowing the law to develop each clause of this charter over the following decades.
