Failure to pass hold inspection

A hold inspection clause in a time charter or a time charter trip may become adverse to the owners if the vessel fails a hold inspection. As the job cannot be done by crews and no shore gang is available, the owners will have to send the vessel to another suitable place to carry out further cleaning, which will cause a loss of time and incur expenses.
