After 28 years, as readers will be aware, this is the final issue of WAR. It was Einstein who remarked that "in the midst of every crisis lies great opportunity" and as we conclude this volume, it provides an opportunity to take a retrospective glance at the developments that have taken place in the world of corporate reporting over the past 30 years or so. I am pleased to say that this issue includes an interview (see page 9) with my predecessor, Professor Peter Walton, who edited the publication for around 20 years, and to whom I owe a huge debt of gratitude as it was he who suggested I might enjoy doing it too. The interview provides a fascinating oversight of the changes that have taken place during his editorship, the context in which they took place and the ongoing changes they herald.
